This is a special "End-of-Summer Event" presented jointly by the Los Angeles and Inland Empire Chapters of ACFE. This premier event will include a hosted cocktail hour, three-course catered dinner, premium coffee service, professional networking, and a two-hour case study on workers compensation fraud, presented by the Riverside County District Attorney's office.

This course will focus on the health care provider fraud investigation in the matter of People of the State of California v. Peyman Heidary. The investigation, organization, and prosecution of a large-scale workers’ compensation provider fraud case will be covered, with the course focusing on the paths of injured workers, the flow of money, and the ways a provider network can disguise fraudulent billing.

The learning portion of the evening will qualify for 2 hours of CPE (Continuing Professional Education).  


Erika Mulhere

Erika L. Mulhere is a Deputy District Attorney at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office working in the Special Prosecutions Section. She received her J.D. and M.B.A from Chapman University in 2007. As part of her current assignment, DDA Mulhere handles complex multi-million dollar workers’ compensation and healthcare fraud cases countywide. Prior to her time in the Special Prosecutions Section, DDA Mulhere prosecuted cases as part of the Vertical Crimes Division and Narcotics Unit as well as Grand Theft Auto and Major Fraud.  

W. Matthew Murry

W. Matthew Murray is a Deputy District Attorney at the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office working in the Special Prosecutions Section. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 2004 and his law degree from Loyola Law School in 2008. Matt currently specializes in prosecuting applicant, premium, and provider workers’ compensation insurance fraud. Prior to working in Special Prosecutions, he handled cases involving narcotics, violent crime, child abuse, and sexual assault.
