A Ponzi scheme is a fictitious investment program with no underlying legitimate business operation to which the investment is connected. These fraudulent schemes invariably implode when the perpetrator loses the ability to lure in new investors to fund the fraud. Fraud examiners get pulled in to sort through the debris, looking for clues about what happened, why it happened, and what to do next.

Guest Speaker - Kathy Bazoian Phelps

Kathy Bazoian is currently a partner at the law firm of Diamond McCarthy LLP in Los Angeles, California.  She has been practicing law in the areas of bankruptcy and fraud litigation since 1991.
